Hyper-potassium, (hyperkalemia) seems to have been to cause of death in a (rash) number of young foot ball players and for some reason most medical types are slow to address this... Most sports drinks have little or no sodium in them as that is part of common salt and in the normal world this is fine but where extrema stress is involved where hyperhermia is an issue most Sodium is dumped in sweat while the body retains Potassium.
Could it be that the notion that all Sodium Chloride is bad over shadows the medical view......
